StudioLab RD: Redefine boundaries. Rediscover wonder.
StudioLab RD is a hybrid gallery-studio by contemporary abstract artist Robin Davisson, creating connection through art in the heart of Georgetown.
Step inside and marvel.

Tuesday - Saturday | 11am - 4pm
StudioLab RD reimagines the relationships between art and audience, process and product, artist and entrepreneur.
Contemporary, abstract artist Robin Davisson cultivates, encourages, and examines these relationships by opening her hybrid gallery-studio to the public and offering an unfiltered, behind-the-scenes look at the artist’s process—from testing ideas in her sketchbook and prepping canvases to mixing and applying paints and discerning the final touches on completed pieces.
Nothing is hidden behind the curtain nor shrouded in mystery—except perhaps the inexplicable magic of the creative process itself.
At the heart of every piece of art are connections waiting to occur:
The internal and external dialogues that develop before, during, and after an artist is at work.
The curiosity and emotions that emerge when something challenges, moves, or inspires.
The conversations that unfold when embarking upon a path of discovery, exploring hidden passions, unearthing one’s truth.
Equal parts intimate, alive, and unexpected, StudioLab RD is a space for unfiltered dialogue and serendipitous connections.

Doors are open (and coffee is brewing)

You don’t have to think of yourself as an artist to visit or enjoy StudioLab!
In fact, Davisson is hopeful that those who don’t consider themselves creative (a frequent fallacy!) will discover their buried artistic spark inside her studio. With salons, a creator-in-residence program, and other offerings in the works, the goal of StudioLab is not only to create community for local artists and creatives, but to also introduce a wider community to the art world at large.
StudioLab: Where questions are welcomed & curiosity is rewarded
Davisson is accessible and available during open studio hours and loves chatting with visitors and exchanging ideas. Her intention is to explore the creative process together.
Follow your instincts, visit StudioLab, and see where the experience takes you.

“I am actively learning as I go along, and I invite people to come and learn with me, to be part of my art experiments,” she says. “But, just a warning: it’s not always going to be pretty! In fact, I can almost guarantee it’s going to get messy in here. But that’s all part of the joy.”
