MIND MAPS

Curious. Dexterous. Willing.

These are the major coordinates of my brain onto which I map my art experiments. The brainstorms radiate out from these central hubs, pulling from a lifetime of experiences, instincts and perceptions. But as Elizabeth Kapu’uwailani Lindsey says,

“True navigation begins in the human heart. It’s the most important map of all.”

This collection of Mind Maps utilizes a form of printmaking called monoprinting. Unlike most printmaking which allows for multiple originals, monoprints refer to an image that can only be made once. I created these one-of-a-kind pieces by monoprinting on vintage papers using mixed media and combining this with collage onto heavy museum-grade board. The colorways are a nod to the gentle shifts in light and hue during these golden autumn days.

I’m pleased to offer Mind Maps as a window into my brain-heart axis.
